VYA handing out necessities to the homeless

Positively interacting with the homeless teaches our youth to help someone less fortunate. In educating our youth on the lifestyles of the homeless it allows them to be humbled without judgement, along with challenging them to work hard and to be conscious of their choices and the effects that their actions can lead to. Our youth are exposed to many elements with the homeless such as the negative effects of alcoholism, drug addictions, struggles of the mentally challenged, also learning the different elements and struggles a different path can make. Anyone can be told about lifestyles on the streets but for our youth to actually see where they sleep, how they use the restroom, lack of necessities and everyday struggles of survival, imprints our youth on a level of greater depth and realizations. It makes it real, that it does happen and can happen.
