VYA Movie night at Ronald McDonald House

Creating and participating that help families around the community that are battling various obstacles in their lives. Our youth volunteer helping the lives of the families battling medical concerns, the disabled, animals, trash clean up and other various issues. This allows our youth to learn compassion, team work, responsibilities and to have their lives imprinted as they help to impact the lives of others

Community Support Program Description

Our Support Families Program is accomplished by partnering with  local nonprofit organizations including the the ones below

Ronald McDonald House
Provides temporary housing for families who travel to Las Vegas to receive critical medical treatment for their children. Their mission is “Believing that every child deserves a safe and supportive place to grow.”

  • Prepare a meal for the families that reside at RMH
  • Host a movie or game night – Arrange audio visual, provide movie and pop popcorn or provide game
  • Arts & Crafts Project – select a project that young kids and adults can do.
  • Host a drive – create, plan and execute a drive based on items in high demand
  • Host a Baby Shower – Collect donations for gifts, provide food and game(s)

The Blind Center of Nevada
Assists blind and visually impaired persons of all ages in reaching their highest physical, social, intellectual, and economic potential. To achieve these objectives there are three focus areas: personal development, social interaction and meaningful employment.

  • Read books to and interact with clients
  • Do an arts & crafts project with clients
  • Play an instrument for clients
  • Assist clients to go bowling in their built-in bowling alley

 Mentor Program
Partners VYA team leaders with youth for positive impact.  Our one on one mentoring provides positive and nurturing relationships while facilitating team building, interpersonal skills and positive self-esteem.
